I was told most of his photographs were taken in either Vermont or Cape Cod. There is wear to the back mat with water marks as shown. The photograph itself is in very good condition. Whitney Standish was a Boston architect, active as a pictorialist, teacher, and salon judge, from the mid-1930s to early 1950s.
