1999 Chevy Chevrolet Pikes Peak Hill Climb Race Car Photo CA-0438
This is a 12″ x 20″ original print showing a 1999 Chevy Chevrolet Unlimited Class hill climb race car. This car ran the 2010 Pikes Peak Hill Climb in Colorado Springs, Colorado. You are purchasing a non-matted, non-framed print of an original photograph taken by me, Tad Gage. Your print will be produced only when ordered. The photograph you purchase will be a signed original. Because your print is only made after receiving your payment, please allow 3 to 5 days for processing. Your finished print will be sent via First Class mail. It will be shipped in a heavy cardboard mailing tube. Archival tissue paper will be placed over the print to protect the surface. Each print is made using only the highest quality inks and paper. The print is made using a professional level printer with 8-color pigment-based inks. All photographs are printed on professional heavyweight paper with a flat matte surface. This produces a stable print with the longest possible print life. Actual print stability and longevity will vary according to image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity, atmospheric conditions, and post-printing treatments. Display your print away from extreme temperatures, high humidity and bright lights. Avoid displaying the print in direct sunlight.
South Lookout Peak: Late Afternoon, Early Fall. Digital Mosaic Photo. 18″x32″.
The print image size is 18″x32″, to within 1/32″ on my ruler. There is a whitespace border around the image on all four sides for easier handling, 1″ top and bottom, 2″ on each side. South Lookout Peak, as one might suspect, is a short distance from (just) Lookout Peak, in the heart of the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado.
Aspen & False Lupine Hillside, CO. Large Format 4×5 Color Photography, 20″x24″.
Aspen & False Lupine Hillside; Cucharas Pass area, Colorado. (2005) This rich and lush 477 square inch sized print was made at 270 DPI on Fuji Crystal Archive color photo paper featuring a ‘lustre’ (or ‘pearl’) fine-grained textured glossy finish. While the nominal size is 20″x24″, the print image area is 19 11/16″ x 24 1/4″ with my ruler. The print has small borders of 1/8″ top and 3/16″ bottom, and 2+” borders on the left and right sides for ease of handling. Let me know if you’d like me to trim the sides down for you. The original photo on Fujichrome Astia RAP 100 color slide film (E-6) was digitized at 2400 DPI, for an ~100 Mp scan — and these are real pixels, not Bayer array or manufacturer hyped ones. The scan was de-spotted and retouched at high magnification to remove the small flaws and dust specks which are inevitable when shooting in the field. Please note that since the print image is composed of colored dyes, to prevent any change of tone over time, especially if displayed in strong light, one should frame behind “conservation” glass (UV block) or have someone qualified overcoat the mounted print with a UV blocking lacquer. With do-it-yourself or Hobby Lobby framing you can have a great work of photo art that looks like it cost $1000 or $1200 at the gallery opening for a fraction of the cost. Taking Details Calumet CC-400 4×5 camera. Fujinon-W 135mm f/5.6 lens. Wratten #81B light balancing filter. Astia RAP 100 film (emulsion #632-521), E-6 development. The two close-up photos show at 1:1 scale all the detail visible in parts of the picture. This is one of several Sangre de Cristo Range photos I’ve got listed that you might be interested in. See also: Cascade, Sangre de Cristo Range (time exposure). Spanish Peaks / Sangre de Cristo Range Vista as well as: Aspen, Spanish Peaks Wilderness. It’s a steep, rugged, narrow range, and because there was little in the way of silver or gold to be found there it was largely bypassed by the prospectors, miners, and pioneers. Hence it has few roads and, subsequently, few visitors, making it some of Colorado’s most remote and best wilderness. If this 5+x enlargement size is not to your liking please message me about custom sizing up to a wall-sized maximum of about 44″ (9¼x) on the smaller dimension. Shipping cost includes sturdy new mailing tube (about $4-5) and comparable USPS parcel service (~1 week). Check out my other photo offerings here which I hope to add to once every several days or a week. Besides large format Color I also have large format B&W, as well as high resolution digital mosaics (or ‘panos’) to list. Be sure to check back every so often. There’s a lot of good photography out there, so maybe I’ve got the image which really resonates and that you just have to have, the one that sticks in your mind. Most my traffic comes from word-of-mouth and referrals, so be sure to mention me to anyone who you think might be interested in especially large format photography. Note: Especially with color images, monitors and screens differ from prints in how the image is made visible, but the medium here requires my scans to be de-enlarged, reduced, and compressed ~200x in size (area – from 100 Mp to ½Mp) in order to be electronically displayed. So I can almost certainly guarantee the actual prints will look much better in hand compared to on here, though maybe not 200x. They might look somewhat different but this is unavoidable. Even though some of the source material is old, all my prints have been made recently (the last couple of years at most) and stored in plastic sleeves. ©2019, Chris Wetherill. All rights reserved. Display here does NOT constitute or imply permission to store, copy, republish, or redistribute my work in any manner for any purpose without prior written permission. Please note: buy two or more prints and I’ll combine and reduce the S/H. Buy three or more and I’ll also take 10% off their total. Galleries: if you have comparable printing available (and can frame) contact me about an exclusive on one to three of my images. Your purchase keeps my scanner powered and keeps me in retro lenses and Rodinal, and helps keep the legacy technology of large format 4×5 sheet film view cameras alive, while also supporting my educational efforts: “Large Format Photography Beginner’s Notes” should turn up easily in a search. There’s nothing quite like working with the image on the ground glass directly; there are things which just can’t be accomplished any other way. Thanks!

November Dawn Clouds, Western Colorado. APS-H Digital Color Photograph, 13″x19½”
There is a whitespace border around the image on all four sides for easier handling of ~1″. It could go up ~70% larger, ~22″x33″, before it gets to the point where one is just “enlarging the blur” inherent in any image.
